Anton Waln: Are you going to transfer the tags to a new car? If not, no, don't pay the renewal. If so, yes, pay the renewal.
Marjory Stromme: Bascially no, they probably haven't updated their files yet, did you give the insurance a Power of Atty to transfer the title of the vehicle. They should have transferred the title to them or the salvage yard that will be auctioning it. I know in TX there is a specific form to be filled out and sent back to the DPS that states that you do not own the vehicle any longer and to whom you transferred the title to.
Bo Perham: No; once the company pays you for the car, it belongs to them, and they should report it as totaled to the DMV. Be sure to take care of that paperwork with the company.
