CarMax will buy my car...how does this work?

If you take your car to a CarMax, they will give you a written appraisal that is good for 7 days if you need time to think about it. When I sold one of my past cars to CarMax, I ended up getting about a thousand less than I wanted. It is worth it if you do not want to bother with the hassle of trying to sell it to some random individual. I would expect you to get around $5000 if you want a rough guess. You will ALWAYS get more money.Carmax will have to resell this vehicle. They are a company. They know to buy low and sell high.Go to carmax. They will look over your car for 30 minutes and give you a quote.
