is the aspirin contraindicated in Basedow disease?

Jene Licausi: yes u can take aspirin, but if u hav APD u should take it with h2 receptor antagonists or proton pump inhibitors.

Robt Heemstra: Under usual circumstances the answer is no. However, aspirin can skew thyroid test results. So if you are going to have such tests you should not take any aspirin for a week to 10 days prior to the date of your test. When you are taking certain medications to treat the disease one side effect can be aplastic anemia. Normal doses of aspirin should not affect or worsen this. Just don't overdo it. Very high doses of aspirin, taken over time, can cause its own sort of anemia. (pernicious anemia) You must be from Europe on the continent, or the UK. Weldon Totaro: Basedow disease in the UK is more commonly known at Grave's disease in the US. Yes, unless you have a bleeding ulcer or abnormal blood clotting time, the aspirin would be appropriate.!
