How do I become a Top Contributor?

Shamika Schools: 1. Answer what you know. There are no top contributor badges given for polls and surveys or for Jokes and Riddles - any other category gives the badge. 2. Concentrate your effort in a few categories. I do answer question that are not in Homework Help and Yahoo! Answers, but those 2 categories are where I spend most of my time. 3. Know the rules. Consider taking the community moderation quiz. It is really short, and it helped me to learn what I could and could not do on here.Find it athttp://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers...One other thing is that you must work at maintaining the badge - I was on vacation for a little over a week, and lost both of them. So make sure you pick a topic that you enjoy.4. Work on giving complete, polite, and helpful answers. I try to give details the questioner might not have thought to ask. I typically include a link that substantiates my answers. 5. Post in standard English, as opposed to text speak. 6. Realize that the ba! dge draws more attention to you. That may not be a good thing at times. I have been "trolled".7. Vote on the unresolved question that you have answered. If someone has a better answer than yours, vote for it. Good luck!...eagerly awaiting July 15......Show more

Marcellus Yoshimori: I want to ^o^

Conrad Puleio: I don't think Yahoo ever said exactly how many best answers you need in a category to be a "top contributor." I suspect it varies from category to category depending on how popular the category is. Just pick a category that you're good in and answer A LOT of questions in that category and you, too, can be a "top contributor." Don’t believe people when they say “just answer 50 answers in 30 days” or stuff like that. Yahoo keeps it deliberately vague so they never promised an exact figure to anyone. It may, as I said, vary from category to category. However, I have a rough idea of how long it takes to become a top contributor because a friend of mine ! made it after she answered all her questions in only one (1) c! ategory for a month in order to earn that badge. She doesn’t log on as often as I do so that only amounted to about 85 answers but she made it. She had a 30% “best answer rating.”It’s been said somewhere here on Yahoo that you need at least 10% of those answers to be “best answers.” It may take weeks of answering a lot in a category so be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day. While I made it to “Top Contributor” in two weeks of answering regularly in certain categories, I do log on every single day. It’s harder to make it to Top Contributor if you only log in now and then or, when you log in, you don’t answer a ton of questions.Just remember, concentrate your energies on ONE sub-category. Don’t answer all categories say, in Health, but concentrate on Alternative Health or Women’s Health or Men’s Health or Diet and Fitness. PICK ONE SPECIFIC CATEGORY AND STICK WITH IT! The biggest mistake most people make is they spread themselves too thin. Also, do! n’t bother trying to get a badge in Polls & Surveys or in Jokes & Riddles because there are no TC’s in either of those categories....Show more

Carolynn Testani: you have to be good at a certain section in answers

Ardell Luy: To be a Top Contributer, you must have ten percent of your best answer in the category you want to be a TC in. You can have up to three categories for being a TC. You have to be on here regularly and spend a lot of time getting specifically best answers. If you stop going on here for a long time, you'll loose your Top Contributer badge. Edwina Fu: A "Top Contributor" is a member of the Yahoo Answers community who has shown that they are knowledgeable in a cert! ain category. Each user can be a top contributor in a maximum three categories. You earn it or lose it depending on your recent participation in a certain section. The more positively you contribute, the more chance there is that you will get an orange badge. Just like featured users or category leaders, it's another way to give credit to community members. It is generally thought that you need at least a 10 percent best answerer rate to get one.The Yamster in Yahoo! Answers team himself explains all about it at this Link below:http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-d8pH0dcoR…The formula that yahoo use is secret. supply a lot of high quality answers , and therefore this implies it is a mixture of points, best answer percentage and level..http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers…I hope that helped...Show more
