Amusement parks and pregnancy ?

Dana Russian: The shortest I have ever been on is Skull mountain.

Manie Labat: no amusement park rides for you. unless its a tram, monorail or train.anything could cause misscarriage.X3...Show more

Torri Tippey: bring a fanny pack to hold your glasses and all other valuables in. you will be safer on a coaster than riding in a car. be sure to put your money in the fanny pack while riding, if not, it could be shaken out of your pockets. let your hair down, scream at the top of your lungs and have a good time.

Sammy Hatzenbihler: If you have vertigo, then you might wish to stay away from that. But please speak to your doc 'bout that cause that is jsut my opinion, from when I went to an amusement park and she could'nt(or wouldn't) ride anything.

Madge Voice: Most of the short and best rides are around Nitro, Skull Mountain, Batman the Ride, and that Movie Zone place. Although the lines may be long, the waits are definitely worth the ride.Hope you have a! good time there.-akipper96

Seema Hosfeld: The rides here aren't very big except for, Titan a huge roller coaster with a 255 foot drop undergroundTexas Giant an extreamly rough wooden coaster with a 140 foot dropMr. Freeze a roller coaster that launches at 70 mph then goes 218 feet high upside down just to do it again backwardsFlashback a roller coaster with a 116 foot drop at 47 mph through 3 rough loops just to do it again backwardsBatman a feet dangling coaster that goes upside down 5 times...Show more

Alexis Reyer: as other posts have stated--NONE. be safe not sorry. good luck and congrats on your new addition.

Merna Fauset: My opinion of rides was very much like yours. Not really wanting to go on the upside down rides. But once you start going on them you are hooked! They're the most fun rides at every park. You might be a little aprehensive before the ride but once you've riden it you'll just want to go again and again. After my first upside down rid! e I thought the more upside down the better. The restraints wi! ll hold you, there's nothing to worry about. I don't think that having glasses on the ride is the smartest way to go because they could always slip off. I once knew a guy who's glasses fell off while on a roller-coaster. If you're going to a water park take your glasses but take them off before going in the water. Put them in your bag or under your towell on a chair if there are any. All in all. Have fun but don't let anyone push you into a ride that you are not ready for.

Andrew Sinatra: stay away from all rides while your pregnat try to stay away from thoses kind of things it could kill the baby or seiousely hurt it

Carolin Southers: all rides except a merry go round! i worked at cedar point and every ride warned against it.

Francisco Schonhardt: again-like most ppl are saying, dont ride none of them. A jarring force from even slow moving rides has caused placental abruption, miscarriage, and other complications for women who are pregnant...even if the ! force of whatever ride doesnt directly hit the uterus.for more go to americanpregnancyassociation.com

Alma Twomey: Pretty much all the rides are crowded, especially on a nice day like today. Whenever I go, there are lines for everything, so I would suggest just go to the rides you really want to go on first.Ones I recommend El Toro (I loved it!!), Nitro, Medusa, and Superman. Those are my favorites. There are also some little rides that aren't as much fun, but the lines aren't long....Show more

Bethany Blocker: i dont know about the vertigo stuff..but yes you have to take off ur glasses or they will fall off. and the waterpark i think u could keep em on unless you get on a ride..just hold on to them..the water rides are not usually that fast for your glasses to come off. well for the upsidedown part...its kinda scary at first but you get use to them..especially if you like adredaline stuff. that part usually last for like 3 or 4 seconds and its over unless they ! have alot of upside down parts. but i use to be very scared of those r! ides and now i get on everyone of them..i cant get on spinning rides or i get sick but rollercoasters and the one that drops you from a hundred feet is so cool. just get a motion sickness pill...that'll help you alot. make sure its not one that gets drowsy cuz you wont like the ride.

Marna Liddie: Stay off the ride to the amusement park, that's the most dangerousride of any of the rides.

Coy Tapley: Its not good to ride any of the big rides. The merry go round or the ferris wheel are probably okay but everything else could be pretty harmful to the baby.

Magda Vandergriend: Titan, Batman, and Freeze are all really smooth. I wouldn't worry about hurling on 'em. Texas Giant on the other hand is extremely rough, and is probably the most sickening ride in the park! Now don't get me wrong, it's really fun, BUT it hurts! How the rides affect you are really different for everybody though. It's just more common with the Giant. Still a classic though!...Show more

Magda Vandergriend: All of the roller coasters there have pretty long lines. Relative to the ride experience, Nitro's line is not too bad.If you want to get on most of the rides, I suggest the Gold Flash Pass. It's quite expensive, but probably worth the money!

Tobie Oshea: I've always been kind of afraid of going upside down on a roller coaster, or anything for that matter. So what does it feel like? Are there any risks of going on it? And glasses, do they come off for the ride? Also, if you have glasses, what do you do with them at a water park?I'm going on a trip in a month, and my friend goes on those upside down rides. And since we're only going in a pair, I don't want to be holding her back from that stuff. So positive words of advice for getting myself onto one of those would be great. ^^...Show more

Rana Rudell: I'm going to six flags in jackson today, and i was wondering what rides have the shortest lines. My friends and i are going around 4! or 5 and are staying til it closes. we want to go on as many rides as ! possible, even if they arent roller coasters. Any ideas?

Donte Hamme: Ive Been To Six Flags.STAY AWAY FROM KING DA KA.Id Say Somewhere In Kiddie Rides.Theres A Big Wheel (Its A Ferris Wheel) Calm And Breezy. Also The Line Tram OR Something.Go On A Cruise Or Something. If You Live in Washington, There Are 1 Night Cruises For Under $100NYC are $149 And Up....Show more

Dan Seen: Maybe you can ride some in camp snoopy, but why risk it?

Logan Bero: First question is, do you enjoy other roller coasters and thrill rides? if you do then you will probably like coasters that go upside down. i was scared at first and went on one without realizing that it went upside down. after it was over i was glad i did it and now go on them all the time. however, there are different levels of intensity so i would try one with the fewest loops first to get used to it. then build up. good look.Erick

Eli Trapeni: I LOVE ROLLER COASTERS! THEY ARE AWESOME! Well when you go upside ! down you really don't feel it because it goes so fast so i think you should do it. I HOPE YOU HAVE FUN!

Loise Mausser: On roller coasters, it kind of feels like you're getting pushed back into your seat. If it's a rougher coaster, your head will probably get banged around against the restraint, so try to keep your head back. It's all over so fast that you hardly realize you were upside down. I won't go on any non-coaster upside down rides, so I don't know what they're like.No risks unless you have medical issues. The rides/restraints are tested every morning and they're safe. I get headaches like you, so make sure you drink lots of water and bring medicine just in case. To prevent an uneasy stomach, don't eat right before you go on (but make sure you do eat at some point). When I wore glasses they never flew off, but if you're worried, you can get a strap for them. Or, if your eyesight's not too bad, you can just take them off (and put them in a closed pocket ! or purse).I've never been to a water park, but when I wore glasses, I u! sed to leave them on at the pool. If your eyesight's not too bad, I would just take them off. Prescription goggles are also an option.Don't worry too much about the coasters--you'll be fine and you'll have fun. Go when the lines are short, so you'll have less time to back out. But if you are really scared, don't force yourself on anything--it's not worth it.=]...Show more

Porfirio Cahall: I want big thrill rides, but i don't want to throw up in the process.

Sharee Doak: well, I know a mechatranic engineer who installs theme park rides, there is no risk of stopping, on 'train stlye' rides, where it goes round a track and does loop the loops because they are propelled by their own momentium, after the big drop, or if they go up hill really quickly thats actully liquid oxygen (nitrous oxide) being used, it expands rapidly from liquid to gas and drives a cilinder. rides that do require power 'skyswats' for example employ a system such that if power fails it will! be able to right itself to a safe position, before an engineer slash fire and rescue service can get you down. none of the saftey restraints can fail, they are not held in by air/fluid pressure, they open the restraints, the are held by a ratchet or similar system that simply can not realise until a solenoid in it can draw current, and thats highly unlikley as there is only current when the thing isn't moving in the 'docking' area. statistically you are over 1 million times more likely to die getting to one of these places than you are to die there (and next to none of those deaths is caused by a fault on the ride, heart attacks and such count for a large part of that so learn CPR!) oh and as for your glasses i would wear something with a zip up pocket and put them in the case and zip up the pocket, they are liable to get lost otherwise. go for it, everyone is scared but thats the thrill of it, a lot of rides try to make you feel a lot more less secure than you really are ! to make it more scary for you, and they are made to look intimidating a! gain just to get that adreniline flowing.

Toby Women: My first upside down roller coaster was Rock'n'Roller Coaster in Disney World. At first I was terrified because I figured if I hated drops, I would hate being upside down even more. Once I'd actually done it, it was actually really fun and exhilirating to feel weightless for a split second. I now much prefer upside down roller coasters than drops. I suggest going on a dark, indoors one because you can't see that you're upside down. Don't worry, it's not as scary as it looks. A tip would be lean your head back; when I first went on it, my head got jerked around. Have fun!

Arlen Decorte: And for health reason stuff...I have nothing serious that would prevent me from getting on a ride. I have an uneasy stomach, and I get headaches when exposed to too much....too much anything. Also, I experience vertigo often, usually when I get off of an elevator, escalator, or waking up in the morning. It lasts for a few minu! tes. Would the loops on the ride be likely to give me this?...Show more

Hollis Demasters: none of then except the kid ones

Stephnie Patout: http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/ask-heidi/am...You're already having the ride of your life (it's called pregnancy) â€" but if that's not enough to satisfy your sense of adventure, here's the scoop on the amusement park variety. There's no need to skip your day at the park (or at the county fair), but you might want to consider keeping it more chill, less thrill. Even early in pregnancy, moms-to-be need to exercise a bit of discretion when it comes to rides. Which means that instead of hopping on those knuckle-whitening, gravity-defying rides that send you zero to 60 in three and a half seconds, you'd be smart to stay in the slow lane (think Dumbo, not Death Mountain). Or opt for spending more time trying your luck in the arcade (that'll get you out of the hot sun) or game booths (you may come home with a stuffed g! iraffe for the baby's room!). Why the extra caution? Although ther! e isn't a scientific consensus that roller coasters and other high-speed rides are harmful during pregnancy, they haven't been proved completely safe, either. It's wise to avoid their rapid starts and stops and jarring motions, which could put an excessive amount of pressure on your abdomen (not to mention the nauseating rides that could make anyone hurl â€" something an expectant mom certainly doesn't need any extra help with). That's why parks and fairs display warning signs next to their bolder rides, advising pregnant women (and anyone with back or neck problems) not to ride them. You might even want to pass on some rides that seem relatively slow-paced, such as the Ferris wheel â€" not only can it have jerky motions, but in the unlikely event it got stuck, you wouldn't want to negotiate an emergency exit from on high with your less-than-perfect balance. In fact, any ride that requires a moving entry or exit, or navigation up or down a lot of steps, could prove tricky t! hese days, no matter how tame it seems. The bottom line is that you should pay attention to the park's warning signs on thrill rides, but when in doubt about any ride it's best to play it safe and sit it out. There will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the rides again next year (you'll just need a volunteer to mind the baby for you!) and over and over again a couple years from now with your child. Besides, isn't pregnancy action-packed enough on its own? By the way, if you already went for a spin on the Corkscrew Coaster, there's no reason to panic â€" but mention it to your practitioner to be perfectly safe. It's always a good idea to keep him or her "up to speed" on what you've been doing. Here's to an exciting pregnancy!...Show more

Sammy Hatzenbihler: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is th! at right spelling?

Hal Rouse: I would say all of them...dont they! say people pregnant or with heart problems should not ride them? Usually its right on the ride itself.

Queenie Ruthers: Yeah thanks- are their any that you really don't recommend though cause im going in a couple of days and need to know. Im excited about titan and really want to go on it.
